1891 Ten Dollar Bill Silver Certificate

The 1891 ten dollar bill Silver certificate is the same as the 1886 ten dollar silver certificate
In all aspects apart from the back design. The back is simpler and less interesting.
This note is called the Tombstone by collectors because of the frame that Hendricks is in.
Hendricks died in office a fact which has to have had a part in that nicknames provenance.

1891 Ten Dollar Bill Treasury Note

The 1891 ten dollar bill Treasury note is nice type note especially in higher grades.
The note came with only one seal type, the small red seal.
The note features Civil War General William Sheridan.
This back design is plainer than the series 1890 back. It was believed the simpler design would be harder to counterfeit.
These notes are not as popular as the series 1890 fancy back notes but they are still valuable.
