The Series 1875 Five dollar bill is one of the family of Woodchopper designs. This design with the large florid peach colored seal is a standout note. I have shown one of these notes for eaxample. These notes are not uncommon and can often be had for less than 1000 in high grades.
The Series 1875 Five dollar bill national currency is both common and rare. It is common depending on the bank in the title block, if the bank was large, the note is common. It is very uncommon and desirable when the bank is a Western or Southern state. In other words, these notes are valued primarily on the issuing bank and then condition.
