Fractional Currency and Postage Currency Paper Money Values
Postage Currency (later renamed Fractional Currency) was first issued in August 1862.
Fractional currency was intended to alleviate the lack of coins due to hoarding after the Civil War.
There were five separate issues between 1862 and 1874.
All Fractional notes are collectible today and there are varieties that can be pretty valuable.
